What to Expect
What can I expect from Therapy?
Individual Therapy
Texas online therapy available statewide.
Your first session, known as the intake session, is designed to help us get to know one another and began building a strong therapeutic foundation. During this 40 to 50-minute session, I will ask a series of questions to better understand your reasons for seeking therapy and your current mental health concerns. This initial meeting also provides an opportunity to begin establishing trust and rapport, which are essential for effective counseling.
Toward the end of our intake session, we will discuss the recommended frequency of ongoing therapy. This may range from weekly sessions to multiple times per week, biweekly, monthly, or on an as-needed-basis—depending on the severity of your concerns and your financial resources. As a virtual therapist serving clients throughout Texas, I offer flexible scheduling to meet your individual needs.
Relationship Therapy
Texas online therapy available statewide.
For couples or relationship counseling, the intake session similarly lasts 40 to 50 minutes and includes all participating partners. During this session, I gather information about the relationship’s current challenges, history, and overall dynamics. We will also determine the appropriate therapy frequency and structure going forward.
Following the intake session, I typically recommend one individual counseling session for each partner. These one-on-one sessions allow for a deeper understanding of each person’s background, mental health history, and personal expectations for the relationship. This step supports a more informed and balanced therapeutic process when we return to joint sessions.
After completing the individual sessions, we will resume couples therapy with a clear, collaborative plan tailored to your unique relationship goals.
Please note: I do not provide relationship counseling for couples (or polyamorous units) currently engaged in an ongoing, undisclosed affair.
